The day got off to a perfect start. We rose early from the campground, cycled to the nearby bakery for fantastic pastries, and found a mostly off-road bike path that guided us almost all the way to Fécamp. Caitlin’s spokes on her rear wheel had been giving her trouble so we attempted to find a bike shop in Fécamp to get it repaired. We managed to dive straight down into the city, instead of staying on the ridges, and so had a steep climb out to find the store.
We eventually got there and had the spokes repaired and wheel trued. A few kilometers down the road, however, a spoke snapped and we couldn’t true the wheel to enable her to safely ride it. So we managed to use Google Translate to ask the local bar owner if he could call us a taxi (or some friends) with a van to drive us to Le Havre, the nearest large town (Still about 30min drive away). Success! We spent the night in Le Havre and located the bike shop for new wheels in the morning.
