Caitlin and Andrew
We’re husband and wife starting our second self-supported bicycle touring adventure together. In 2014, we biked 4,000 miles across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. Now we’re planning to bike 3,000 miles across Europe this summer.
We first has this idea while eating our third consecutive dinner of microwaveable gas station burritos. We were having a great time biking the U.S., but what if we could trade in our Don Miguel burritos (which Andrew still maintains are delicious and a great price point) for fresh baguettes?
Done!
The trip will officially get started June 5, but more on that later. We’ll post some highlights of our U.S. trip before we get started, as well as some of the plans we’ve made for the current tour. Be sure to check out the “Maps” tab for the approximate route for our trip’s two sections.
Support the National Resources Defense Council!
To make the trip a bit more meaningful, we wanted to help raise awareness for the National Resources Defense Council, an organization doing critical work defending the environment through litigation, advocacy, and business partnerships. These efforts will help keep our elected officials honest. They have a stellar rating with Charity Navigator, too. We value the outdoors and wanted to highlight one organization helping to protect our natural resources for generations to come.
If you feel so inclined, please consider donating to this organization whose work has never been more critical.
