U.S. Cross Country Trip Highlights

In anticipation of the upcoming Europe trip, here are a few pictures from our last trek during the summer of 2014. We started in Seaside, Oregon, and ended in Charleston, South Carolina. We followed the TransAmerica route until Missouri and found our way to the Atlantic from there.

We’re hoping to cover approximately 1,000 fewer miles in Europe over the same time duration as the U.S. trip, so we’ll have a bit lower average miles per day than before.

  • Number of Miles: 4,000
  • Number of Training Miles, Cumulative: 50*
  • Months: 2
  • States: 12
  • Average Miles Per Day: ~90
  • Longest Day: 126mi from Lander, WY to Rawlins, WY
  • Bears Spotted: 2
